Office & Programs Assistant, Dean’s Office Summer Work-Study 2014
Overview of Positions:
Under the direction and supervision of the Program Officer and the Dean of Students, the successful candidates will provide assistance to the efficient organization of summer programs and events, organization and implementation of fall term programs, and assist with the day-to-day operations of the office.
Work-study students are paid bi-weekly, at a rate of $10.25/hour with 4% vacation pay. As of June 1st 2014, the work-study rate will raise to $11.00/hour. Work-study students are permitted to work no more than 12 hours per week, to a total of 90 hours, on a flexible schedule. Students must be enrolled in at least 1.0 FCE throughout the summer term to be eligible to apply.
- Aid the Program Officer with the summer Welcome Events for incoming students, which happen throughout the month of June. This may include helping with the set up and take down of the event, preparing handouts and copies for sessions, attending the event in order to answer questions for students and parents, and general assistance throughout the day.
- Assist with the development of WOLF programming, including taking notes for meetings, copying information for the WOLF coordinators, stuffing WOLF packages, and answering student inquiries.
- Assist with the Dean’s Office Mentorship portfolio, including summer e-mentorship, as well as preliminary work for the fall Mentorship and PASS programs.
- Other administrative duties as required (copying, filing, etc.).
