Coming to the University of Toronto can feel daunting, but with our Woodsworth College E-Mentorship program in partnership with the Arts & Science STEP Forward Initiative, we are increasing the accessibility for all incoming students to help smooth out their transition into University. Our E-Mentorship program will give you the opportunity to connect, orient, and transition more fully with the aid of assigned Woodsworth upper year student E-Mentors, webinars and more accessible e-Resources. E-mail topics are relevant & timely with regards to your transition into U of T:
- Course Registration/Selection
- Opportunities at Woodsworth and On-Campus
- Learning More about the City of Toronto, etc.
The STEP Forward framework is a major new initiative by the UofT Arts & Science that will develop our students’ capacity to connect their academic learning to their personal values, aspirations, and practical planning, through active reflection on what they have learned. It focuses on three words: Connect, Reflect and Project.
Our Woodsworth College E-Mentorship program is one of these STEP programs that will help Connect with students through E-Mentoring. The students will be able to Reflect on their transition and orientation into University and then Project forward goals and aspirations that will help smooth out the transition.
If you are an incoming first year student you will automatically be enrolled in the program. We receive our student information after the OUAC deadline and set you up with an upper year student mentor who is in the same general program area as you.
They will send you an introductory email using a UofT listserv address. Feel free to respond to them and ask them any questions you might have! If you have any questions or concerns, please email Arabelle Arcaina, E-Mentorship Program Coordinator, email@example.com.
